Not trying to pick on you specifically but you just have what seems to be the popular opinion that his standup isn't good. From what I've seen he uses his reach really well and he likes to stay on the outside and throw kicks. He obviously isn't fully developed standing, hence why he plays it safe. But from what I've seen he's gonna be very well rounded.
And Jones would not kick his ass in standup. He'd be to worried about the takedown to try any of those flashy moves (which happens to be why most people think jone's standup is good).
