Totally agree. If this trend isn't stopped soon it'll become the standard. It sucks for Edgar that he had to give the rematches he gave. I do feel that BJ won the first fight though. Regardless of the rematches he gave, they need to end. Why should Bendo need to beat the champion consecutive times to be the champion? What if Bendo loses the rematch? Will he now get an immediate rematch? He better.
The more troublesome part of this equation is being mentioned by almost everyone and that's the fact that there really isn't a clear cut challenger. I can make a case against everyone being considered, but it must be one of them. Edgar shouldn't fall more than 1 or 2 fights away from another shot after a close fight like that, but he still needs to fall. I think Pettis is the easiest fight to sell and he's one of about four that are close to being equal. This is an exciting weight class that will probably have a revolving champion for a few years. Endless rematches will mire that.
