JJ's reach and size are a major reason he is as good as he is. He would not have the leverage to be able to be as effective in the clinch, it would be harder for him to do crazy things like spinning elbows and flying knees, and it would be harder for him to keep people at bay with his jabs/push kicks/eye pokes.
I know Silva is a very big MW, but to me, Jones just looks absolutely massive for a LHW when you see him standing next to his opponent, moreso than Silva and GSP...but he can cut the weight so why not...hopefully it starts to catch up with him right around the time the Shogun rematch happens and he has a horrible cut lol
