I'm still kind of laughing at all the posts that said Leben could run with Franklin and Tanner. I think the Silva fight opened everyone's eyes that Leben still has a lot of work to do before he can step into the ring with Franklin. I also don't see Silva up there in Franklin's league either. He should have to fight Tanner to see who fights Franklin. And I don't see him beating Tanner. But back Leben, a fight with Koscheck again would be a big mistake for him because I believe Koscheck would win that fight. Right now he needs an easier match so that he can build his confidence back up. |
Leben is a brawler with some ground skills. He stands like a brawler, keeps his hands up like a brawler and swings like a brawler. Watching the Leben / Silva fight was like watching a boxer and thug in a street fight. Leben's pre-fight comments were a joke as he showed his opponent no respect before the fight. Its all well and good to show some respect after losing, but honestly, he had no other choice if he was going to try and repair his ego. I dont know who they'd match Leben up against now as both Koscheck and Swick are coming off wins. I think he's just going to sit on the side lines at least until late fall before he fights again.
p.s - I'd like to see Leben fight in Japan and then see which organization he tries to ridicule after that. Maybe something like "you know those winos on the corner, after I beat one of those maybe they'll go back down by the river."
