I could easily see that. I know masscore gets worked up about anyone from a wrestling background, for sure. I'm just a bit mystified why they wouldn't be pulling for someone like Munoz or Weidman, who--while they weren't Olympic alternates--are exceptionally accomplished wrestlers who are more complete fighters in general.
I guess maybe if sonnen could beat Anderson without exceptional striking or submission skills, it would somehow prove that wrestling is the best eva. The fact that Wiedman or Munoz would augment their game using striking or submission skills would adulterate the glory it would give to wrestling?
that's an interesting point, I hadn't thought of at all.
I do think we'll be seeing a new wrestler getting megahype after this weekend.
