shogun started the fight with takedowns against hendo too. at the time i thought it was him training for and practicing in real fights for jones where he might be thinking about wrestlers being weak off their backs. but (and god help me for this) uncle dana gives me the impression that shogun isn't hungering for that fight...

ha! and, yeh

though, that's actually why i wonder about ongoing body damage. it's pretty common for guys towards the end of their careers to note that back, knee, etc. injuries are preventing their recovery. i always wonder about shogun and bj, but no evidence of it really.

agreed that "violent" would be an overstatement given the surrounding ko's, but you don't have to be ko/tko'd to have a concussion. i don't know about mma, but certainly in boxing it's very common to have a concussion but make it to a decision. i'd be surprised if shogun didn't have one in the henderson fight, but that was certainly a unique fight.
