Shogun has been fighting professionally since 2002. Not to mention any fights before that and all the sparring that took place during his Chutebox years.

If you or anyone think that Shogun hasn't taken 'all that much damage' in his career, you guys are delusional and don't understand how head injuries truly work.

Just because someone says Shogun has taken too much damage doesn't mean he sucks, it doesn't mean he's getting KO'd left and right.

Shit like these responses I have been hearing make me scared man. I thought reasoning would rise over fanboydom.

How To Survive A Concussion In An MMA Fight

Quote:
As someone who has covered combat sports for a long time, I'm shocked that any of my "contact" brethren are surprised that concussions have long-term health implications. Did they really believe their sports—filled with skull-rattling tackles and slams into the boards—were safe? Have they never watched Muhammad Ali try to complete a sentence? Whenever an athlete gets his bell rung, damage occurs. If it happens often enough, severely enough, starting at a young enough age, over a long enough period of time, the consequences can be dire, no matter the sport.

I think people in the MMA world have become extremely naive to believe their sport is somehow safer with the fans drinking the koolaid. Just wait until there are more Gary Goodridge's walking around.
