Weidman's contendership is disputed by other fighters in the mw division (Vitor, Bisping,Belcher, Tim). Instead of waiting around doing nothing he should be trying to market himself so he can get a bigger pay off come 2013.
For the record I have Weidman getting toasted by Vitor and losing a UD against Belcher. Bisping I think he would steam roll. Tim is a wildcard.
