Mir has no chin, and while he does have a great ground game, he doesn't have near the wrestling to get it there. Sylvia is actually pretty decent in the clinch, and when you factor in his reach, it might not be as easy of a fight for Cormier as alot of people think.

Plus, you can't go off of Sylvia's performances where he weighed a sloppy 310+ pounds, as he would have to weigh at least 265 or lower if he were to fight Cormier...but damn, that was a pathetic fight against Wagner. He literally just backed straight up against the cage. Why not try throwing a hard straight at least, if a guy is coming at you throwing wide punch after wide punch?

Of coarse Mir did own Sylvia when they fought, as he pulled a Thiago Alves or Melvin Guillard if you will and took Mir down only to instantly have his arm snapped...but stylistically...I think Mir is a little bit of an easier fight for Cormier...
I think they are both pretty suspect there at this point...

Tim has never showcased good TDD, most of his opponents have actually wanted to strike with him... Mir has decent TDD, but also poses a huge threat on the ground. It is hard to say who really has the better standup at this point... both arent bad technically speaking, but are very slow and telegraph their shots...

I guess sylvia would have an even bigger reach and more height on DC than Mir... but they would both implore huge size advantages...

Its hard to see Sylvia as the better fighter or even the tougher matchup. Mir is a threat both standing and on the ground. Him getting blown up by JDS doesnt really prove much... other than what a killer JDS is... but yes his ability to take a good shot should be questioned.
