Idk about you, but I'm inclined to nelieve that GSP is a very mature intelligent individual who wouldn't let emotion influence a career decision.
Lastly, how would this hurt GSPs career/make him toast? He is one of the most popular fighters in MMA and he would be an underdog. I don't think it would hurt his stock at all. |
I doubt GSP is letting Dana White tease and goad him into the fight. What both GSP and Anderson see is $$$. GSP still has a few years left in his career but this fight alone could support him for a decade with the PPV cuts.
With the massive marketing campaign known as UFC on Fox 5, I think we will see HUGE PPV numbers for this eventual card. The stars are in the process of aligning for this fight. I can only hope that Condit does not spoil the potential magnitude of the announcement. We could have ourselves a massive Superbowl card this year. Add Overeem to that same card.... AND GODDAMN... Sorry, I'm dreaming a little bit here.
Silva is not scared of Weidman, he is simply waiting for a better career opportunity. If and when GSP beats Condit, the card that has this fight has the potential to be a top 5 PPV seller.
I refuse to be cynical of this fight because it will be great publicity for MMA.
