Yeah, I don't think Machida's chin is suspect. His stand-up style gives very few looks for fighters to unload on and aside from Shogun, I don't think we've ever seen Machida "rocked", but I might be wrong, it's been a long time since I saw the Rashad fight.....
Hendo's never been KO'd but Machida has such evasive mystical, ninja striking and works such a nice periphery game(and I don't think Hendo will be able to push forward on Machida and will have good difficulty even getting hands on him) and as such, that I wouldn't be surprised if Machida finds a way, especially if this is a five rounder.
There's something in pro wrestling called a "bump card", which says as wrestlers age, what they can do in the ring and how much punishment their bodies can absorb will start to catch up to them, they'll start getting injured more and can't take the bumps they used to without major physical repercussions. I see similarities in MMA/Boxing regarding how many shots guys can take before their chins stop working as good. TBI and all that scary stuff aside, I don't know if Hendo will be able to have such a tremendous jaw and think we've seen alot of examples of fighters whose chins have deteriorated as they've aged. This is something I'm keeping in mind for this fight, especially after the LONG layoff coming back from an injury against a hyper-mobile Machida.
I think Machida's gonna ghost Hendo within four.
