I think the comparison for Jones to other people in the P4P talks is difficult. What makes it so hard, for me at least, is him specifically being a LHW. We talk about Aldo, GSP and Anderson and its easy to predict their success at a weight class above what they fight in and in Andersons case, he has proven his ability to compete and beat fighters that are fighting above MW. We see Aldo and think he could hang with Bendo, GSP would be a great fight with Anderson and obviously Anderson v Jones would be a dream and a coin flip in most peoples minds. However, if we think of Jones stepping in against JDS, Cain or Overeem it seems crazy to think he could take any of them. The difference is soo prevalent from LHW to HW that it handicaps Jones likelihood of success at this point like it seems possible for other current champs and makes his case for a top P4P seem silly. But his success against someone like JDS or Cain is like comparing GSP stepping in against Machida, Shogun or Jones. Should he be in the talks for top P4P, it really is a tough call, but i think he gets less credit that he should due the weight jump for him to compete at the next weight class and his long reach.
