It won't happen. they want standing champions to hype a superfight...it wouldn't have the same percieved value otherwise.

Assuming Georges does indeed fight next week, if he doesn't defend at WW again before the end of April of 2013, that would be exactly one title defense in 2 years. Granted, it would be as a result of an injury layoff, but it would still be unacceptable in my perception. Anderson would have till the end of August for the same concern to take effect.

Think about that for a minute: one defense in two years for the biggest org in the business, with both rosters deeper and more viable than they've ever been.

While I'm 80% sure this is just Anderson playing the diva card--make no mistake, I think he's a diva, but he's not that much of a diva; though he certainly is that much full of shit--if it's true, and if Georges agrees to sit out a year while he gains weight they should BOTH be stripped.

Not having either belt defended more than once in a two-year span is simply pathetic, and no amount of ppv sales can really justify it, in my mind.

I don't think it's true, but if it is, I don't think zuffa is going to do anything. I hope this is just posturing and posing nonsense, because if it isn't, it's just sad.

It's already difficult for me to take zuffa seriously with the Jones/sonnen debacle, this would push them too far beyond redemption for me to give a fuck about.

I guess it comes down to role modeling...if dana is so casual about his utter lack of integrity, I can't imagine his employees to do any better.
