...right...because there is no difference between a champion stating he has no intention of fighting someone who the president of his org has already stated is the #1 contender, and a #1 contender refusing to fight someone who isn't even ranked.

There is no difference if you're a loveblind fanboy, I guess.

Don't believe everything you hear Silva's hate club tell you.
So who are we supposed to believe...Anderson Silva

I have two fights on my contract and I think one of them will be with St. Pierre and I don't really have an intention in fighting with him (Weidman) because I'm not a fool. I'm already an oldie, you know?'

That isn't haters making things up. That's your boy, speaking directly.

I'm sure you'll idiotically dismiss this as hating on him, but I'm sorry, Anderson Silva is full of shit.

He'll say whatever he thinks fans want to hear, and he'll do whatever he wants. The only difference between Anderson and dana is that Anderson actually has skills, but neither of them have a shred of actual integrity. Silva has gone and contradicted himself so many times in the last two years, what he says in public simply can't be trusted by anyone with any sense of perspective.

Note, this fact--and it's a fact, not a perception--doesn't diminish his skills in the cage one bit. He's still one of the greatest fighters ever to step in a cage or a ring.

But he's absolutely full of shit.

He says he wants to fight anyone, anytime, but then balks at fights that have a high-risk/low-reward scenario. He says he wants to defend his belt, but then chases a disinterested WW for a vanity fight. He says he wants to fight for 6 more years, but then says he's only got two fights left and he's old. He says he's going to take the rest of the year off, and then he asks to fight any LHW who isn't training. He says he's going to fight twice, and then he says he's taking a year off.

I'm confident that in a week we can add that he's said he's going to Montreal on vacation and has no absolutely intention of bracing St. Pierre for the vanity fight to the list of the tremendous difference between what he says and he does.

That belt is meant for the current best fighter in that division and holding that belt u are meant to defend it.
QUOTED FOR TRUTH: so true, I have to quote it two times.

That's it. The be-all/end all of the discussion.

I think Anderson beats Weidman 7 out of 10 times. I think he beats Boetsch 9 out of 10 times. But I think the champion has the responsibility to fight the #1 contender, no matter who that champion is.

I also think that either bout would be a great fight, even it it's a one-sided victory for Anderson. That's not hating. That's simply expecting a champion to do his job.
