If the back of the neck is illegal then I stand corrected. I would also like to point out the shots in the gif that drop and put out Cote are legal. The second shot slumps Cote down which is 100 percent clearly to the side of his head. And then the 6th and 7th shots slump him down even more which both were to the side of the head.
How are these side of the head shots illegal but the following not?
Behind the ear shot 
Behind the ear shot 
Back of the head stoppage 
Blatant back of the head stoppage 
Side of the head, followed up with back of the head 
And I could go on and on. Some consistency would be nice. I mean hell there are Google searches devoted solely to Vitor's back of the head shots. |
Even though you are absolutely wrong about that most of those shots were to the side and not the back (just look at your own Sig!!!!), the point is that Sakara deserved to be DQd.
I do not understand what is the point of showing gifs where other fighters have landed punches to the back of the head. (And some of your examples are fails, like Shogun vs Machida or Lesnar vs Couture. If you can not see the difference between those punches and the ones landed by Sakara, then the one who needs glasses is you). No one said that Sakara is the first ever fighter to land punches to the back of the head.
Another thing you simply do not want to see, is that in The Fedor fight and the Belfort vs Franklin fight, the couple of punches to the back of the head were after the fighter was already out.
Just get over it. I know you hate Vitor and you will defend fighters like Sakara or Sonnen no matter what, but simply accept the fact that Sakara landed several shots to the back of the head and got rightfully DQd, and hope that in the rematch (if it happens) he wins fairly.
