But they gotta do more kickboxing and drill takedown defense a shitload at Cesar Gracies. Seems like they are just into rolling alot for their grappling, I doubt they actually switch in fresh guys and make Nate/Nick constantly defend takedowns over and over and over. And I know they love their boxing but this is mma and Nate's kicks and knees are pretty useless. Nick is actually starting to do a bit better with his kicks, though.
In that 1st round it was pretty much a stalemate in the grappling department for most of the round, they were jockying back and fourth for position and both guys were landing knees and short punches. Then Bendo started landing kicks, socked Nate in the eye, started getting deep in the clinch, and from there Nate was screwed. I also think he was just cool with trying out the ground game when he was having the trouble on the fence he was starting to have.
Anybody else think Nate had a pretty good position with that kneebar in the 3rd round? Seemed like he had it pretty good but then he switched to a heel hook. I wonder if it's because Ben's legs are massive, or because he just likes the heel hook more.
