this is focusing more on bad calls, controversial split decisions, and business choices outside the ring. if hamill had rightfully beaten bisping, how would it have changed their respective careers? that type of thing.

5. What if Frank Mir never got into that motorcycle accident? Does he beat a prime Arlovski & Couture? Does he become the marketable HW champ the UFC was looking for for so long?
at the time, i would have taken him over arlovski, but not couture. couture could have gameplanned around it, and mir's striking wasn't as dangerous at the time. he sure as shit wouldn't have lost to pei de pano though...

6. What if Cro Cop had an easier opponent than Gonzaga? Nobody thought Gabe stood a chance. He was supposed to be just another highlight reel KO for Mirko and was probably picked fairly randomly. Could Cro Cop have beaten Couture? Would his career have been different had he avoided that brutal head kick?
at the time, nobody saw gonzaga beating cro cop, and nobody saw couture making it past sylvia. the HW title would have been a standup war between cro cop and sylvia, hopefully with a highlight reel knockout from cro cop as his coming out party. instead, we got couture in arguably two of his best performances. it's questionable as to if couture could have beaten cro cop, but this is the time that couture took off on his legal sabbatical. if cro cop had won the title, who would he have been defending against all that time? carwin, JDS, and velasquez weren't in title contention yet, and i think even lesnar wasn't there.
