Bad part is Matt Serra should be fighting 155. I wonder if he will drop down and get a title fight at LW or if he has to stay at WW. I don't remember anything being set in stone. So this may be a way to build up the LW division and still get some name recognition out there.

Yeah, I said in a different post I thought Serra should be at lw. I would love to see him and Sherk fight.

Exactly, he's just too short for WW (170 lbs). I know the belt holder is only 3 inches taller, but 5'6" is kinda tiny for that divison.

He would be awesome at 155 lbs taking on Kenflo and Muscle Shark!!

I think he's great for the show, if nothing else he is making the guys on his team better fighters. Also there is still a chance for him to have his rematch with Shonie, and who doesn't want that?

A re-match would be great!

He did look a little rusty last time, hope he's over that now.

it's been a while since serra has fought because of teaching his school. thats why he is right for the comeback show. he will be dominant in the lightweight division after the show, but, you can't blame him for accepting the oppurtunity for a title shot even if it is at 170.

Serra wont fight at lw anymore. His body frame cant hold 155

dont know the credibility, but thats what i've heard

I know im gonna catch hell for this but I think Matt Serra is alittle overrated. He is a smart fighter and a great coach but thats all he will ever be. Maybe it is just me, but I have not been impressed with him as a fighter.

al - I'm not going to bust your balls. I agree he is not going to be a Hall of Famer, but he looks pretty good to me in those highlight films (outside or the spinning back fist with Shonie). I am only making this assessment based on the highlights and the TUF fight with Pete. I am really impressed that he is so go-go-go and never stops trying to get that takedown. He looks pretty strong and has great cardio. I hated wrestling guys like that who would never give you a fukking break and their motor would just go-go-go the whole bout.

I think its funny how he talks shit bout Rich, and Matt, when truthfully Serra would get his ass handed to him by either one of him, Im not sure why hes so cocky,, o well put him in front of Hughes and watch Hughes mow thru him

I don't know about anyone else on here, but I've trained with Matt and met up with him on several occasions. Matt is actually a really cool guy, down to earth and very nice. I have 100% confidence that if he has a problem with somebody, so would I.

I have as well and can attest to what you're saying, he is actually coming to teach a siminar at my academy soon from what I've been told. Can't wait for that.
