Miranda on Friday Night Fights tonight! Just for anyone who didn't know and is interested, Edison Miranda takes on David Banks tonight on Friday Night Fights. |
Yeah, if he and Jean Pascal win their fights tonight, they'll fight each other in June. And the winner of that fight would surely be a front-runner for a title shot (Bute vs. Pascal would be a HUGE fight in Canada for Bute's IBF title). |
Saw it. Great show, good fights. Nice to see Allan Green up with Brian Kenny, hah. Good analyst, "Well, I kept looking down to see which foot I'm going to kick Pascal's ass with," hahah. But yea, good show. Miranda emberassed David Banks...Badly. Early candidate for knockout of the year. I liked what he had to say after the fight, "Yea, put Pascal in there, along with the opponent he fought tonight, and I'll knock all three of them out." He spoke in spanish, and I thought it was hilarious. Of Pascal, he said, "Where did they find this guy?" Can't wait for them to fight. Allan Green kept calling Pascal a joke, too. |

Because he said the same thing about fighting Kelly and Taylor on the same night and got knocked the fuck out by Kelly. I can't stand Miranda. I think he is a cheat. |
Yea, he said it in Spanish though. Pascal and his opponent, on the same night. It was pretty funny but it got lost in translation or something. I love being bilingual in those situations, hah. And Pascal was ring-side, with Tesatore and Atlas after the fight - Miranda came to their side of the ring and they exchanged this and that. Fight build up type shit, didn't escelate to night but verbal jabs. |
Miranda is at super mw now or lhw. |
Super MW. Winner might get Allan Green - Allan sounded like he wanted a rematch with Miranda bad. |
If Friday's fights were any indicator, Pascal will most likely be destroyed by Miranda. For being an ex-Olympian, the guy just fights sloppy, like a bargain basement Roy Jones Jr. It's really aggravating to watch, and I'm glad he paid for it tonight against such an average puncher. He tries to do any of that crap against Miranda and he will get his head knocked off. Miranda, on the other hand, started slow but showed that his power carried up to 168. If the Miranda/Pascal fight doesn't come off (and it wouldn't surprise me at all) I'd love to see Miranda face either Librado Andrade or Jeff Lacy in a real meaningful fight, or him square off against Sakio Bika in what would probably be the ungainliest, yet most wildly entertaining brawl since perhaps the Gatti/Ward trilogy. However, when Joe Calzaghe does eventually leave the division, any road to being considered the true champ goes through Mikkel Kessler, who would annihilate Miranda, Lacy, and Bute, and has already destroyed Andrade and Anthony Mundine. 168 is gonna be fun to watch nonetheless. |
