I bought the fight, I am more than happy to spend my hard-earned money to watch two warriors affirm their positions at the top of the welterweight division.
I'll try and do a jogging commentary. I say jogging because I don't think I'll be sufficiently calm to actually do a real RBR. Just give you my thoughts as the fight is on-going. Enjoy!

Speed diferential is a huge advantage for Cotto so far, he looks really sharp. Still, both guys are being patient, not trying to get too too wild with their stuff. Good round, but definitely one for Cotto. His defense is pretty tight.
Cotto, 10-9.
Cotto is counterpunching well, handspeed is winning him some of the early exchanges. Margarito is coming on, trying to keep him on the ropes. Margarito starting to walk him down, doing some good work. Cotto still working his counters. These guys are fighting, no doubt about it. Great round, Margarito pushed the pace more, so I give him the round.
Even, 19-19
Cotto trying to use as much of the ring as he can, Margarito stalks forward. Cotto doing his better work on the outside, not so much on the inside, but does land flashier combos. Margarito doesn't seem too affected by anything Cotto throws. The counterpunching is a huge point getter for Cotto. Margarito gets warned for a low blow, but that shouldn't deter him from going to the body as he has been doing. Cotto is still more accurate. Cotto, and narrowly. Could really go either way, but I don't really like giving even rounds.
Cotto, 29-28
Cotto's being more patient here, this fight is actually reminding me a bit of DLH/Vargas in a way. When Margarito pushes up against Cotto, he's a lot better. I think he's stronger than Cotto. Uppercuts are doing really well for Margarito against Cotto. Cotto is employing a pretty good jab, but it isn't holding Margarito off. Margarito throwing punches in bulk, and both guys are taking the other's power well. Counterpunching again, he's looking to steal the round, but I still say Margarito did better work the majority of the round. His round.
Even, 38-38

Margarito following Cotto around the ring, Cotto wants to box a little more than he wants to fight. Nothing wrong with that, and he definitely isn't running. Handspeed and countering are winning points for Cotto, Margarito just can't match those kinds of skills. Cotto with a huge right, biggest punch of the night, Margarito goes nowhere, pushes forward as usual. Cotto's winning this round huge so far, but Margarito doesn't stop trying to score big punches. Nifty defense, Cotto's round easily.
Cotto, 48-47
Keep in mind I picked Margarito to win a close fight. Margarito willing to rough Cotto up, keeps Cotto on the ropes as well as he can, but Cotto counters well off the ropes. Margarito working well to the body. Cotto's landing good counters, but he's not as active here as he was in other rounds. I tend to favor aggression and activity a bit more for the most part. Margarito doing better than the last round. Cotto's putting rounds away, but Margarito is trying to invest his body work for later in the fight. Close round, Margarito just edged it for me.
Even, 57-57

Margarito doing very good work on the inside and he hurts Cotto for the first time in the fight. Margarito is relentless on the inside, he's winning this fight huge. Cotto is staying in the pocket though, what heart. I think the fight is turning into more of an actual fight now, which favors Margarito. Uppercuts are huge for the Mexican. Cotto's fighting back through adversity, lands some huge punches, but Margarito seems to just ignore them. Big round for Margarito, best of the fight so far. I'm loving this fight!
Margarito, 67-66
Cotto trying to use his footwork to set up better angles, he's showing respect for Margarito's power. He's realized he needs to box more if he wants to win, but he's got no problem engaging when he has to. Referee has had very little to do. Cotto using his jab to create space, as expected, Margarito could care less, he is determined. I don't think Cotto has ever faced this sort of pressure. Margarito's getting stronger as the fight goes on, but Cotto still trying to stick to his gameplan. Closer than the last round, but Margarito is slowly starting to take control of the fight in my opinion.
Margarito, 77-75

I'm finding I love doing RBR, I need to do it more often, heh. Big flurry from Cotto, Margarito shrugs it off and surges forward. Cotto's doing a bit better making Margarito miss. Margarito, though, is manhandling Cotto on the inside, Cotto always scoring with clean flurries, but is that enough to win when Margarito is pushing the pace? Fight is everything I expected, great fight. Margarito just gets it for me.
Margarito, 87-84
Cotto's gonna have to stand his ground more and fight if he wants to win rounds from here on out. Or not, he's doing well sticking and moving here. He could be catching a second win, Lederman has Cotto just winning the fight so far. Cotto doing well with his counterpunching still, Margarito is there to be hit, Cotto not getting hit so much here. Margarito's neck is gonna hurt when this fight is over, he's getting his head spun like the Exorcist. Margarito hurts Cotto at the end, but for me, I think Cotto won the majority of the round. Gotta be fair, Cotto gets it.
Margarito, 96-94
Margarito wants to finish Cotto off, but Cotto fights back with a 1-2. Margarito is windmilling, he's just a machine here. Cotto goes to a knee! Wow, his face is covered with blood. Margarito goes forward again. Cotto is hurt bad, he clinches. He goes to the canvas again. They stopped the fight, his corner threw in the towel! Margarito wins by 11th round TKO. Margarito is officially a Mexican superstar, what a fight! It definitely challenges Vazquez/Marquez III as FOTY! Incredible.
