ATTN Roy Jones Fans |
That is a pretty sick sig. I was gonna make a prediction thread for this fight, but I'll just use this one. I think Calzaghe takes this one via UD. Cal has exactly the type of style that gives RJJ trouble, constantly pressing forward while throwing 1000 punches a round. That's how Tarver and Johnson beat him. Cal will neutralize RJJ’s (already decreased) speed by smothering him and outwork him to get the decision. |
Roy is what got me into boxing and I love him for it but I think Calzaghe slaps his way to a UD victory. That being said there is a chance that he is finally used to being at this weight after his jump to HW and if somehow he returns to RJJR Cal is going to sleep. |

RJJ, greatest of all time IMO. |
I like the sig, Smoog. RJJ was a big factor into my boxing fan beginnings, coupled with Fight Night R1 that my friend got me hooked to the game then the sport itself. RJJ WAS great, just way to long past his prime, but I will say this. After being so wrong about Pavlik/Hopkins, I can't dismiss RJJ. I'm a big fan of his too, and I dislike Calzaghe, and anyone connected to Frank Warren for that matter, but the Welshman can bring the fight and I can't take it away from him. I expect him to also slap his way to a decision. |

Maybe not the best in terms of accomplishment though, but thats not really his fault. |
[QUOTE=Witchdoctor;556115]I gotta agree with you here. Roy Jones in his prime was the most exciting and innovative fighter in history. Hand speed was ridiculous. Quote:

I love his fights though, his speed literally hypnotized his opponents. Wish he never moved up to HW though, kinda went downhill for a while after that. Any fighter will tell you moving your weight like that really tears the body down. I am hoping he beats Cowhockey. Never count Roy out! |
