Default WBC opens Mosley steroid probe!

The WBC may fine or DQ Sugar Shane Mosley after court documents revealed that Mosley testified that he injected himself with the performance enhancing substance EPO before his second fight with Oscar De La Hoya in 2003. Mosley seized both the WBC and WBA super middleweight titles held by De La Hoya in that bout. "It was a real surprise to read that Mosley has confessed that he did take those medicines, those drugs that are totally prohibited by the WBC," WBC president Jose Sulaiman told the NY Daily News. "The WBC rules state that we must have a hearing. This is a matter of serious concern to us." The WBC legal counsel is currently gathering evidence on Mosley to present to the WBC Board of Governors. Shane is scheduled to challenge WBA welterweight champion Antonio Margarito on January 24th.

Haha I'm pretty surprised no one cares that Mosley has actually admitted on record that he used steroids!

It's not that I don't care, I just don't care much for boxing these days. It's a sinking ship and resurrecting steroid cases from years ago aren't going to help.

Obviously you care enough to check the boxing section from time to time.
I'd also like to add that boxing had the highest grossing PPV event in 2008 and 2007 set a new record for HBO boxing PPV numbers. I've seen no indication boxing is dying other than people claiming it is so.

Were they both the Golden Boy fights? Because, he has enough namesake to make every casual fight fan buy a PPV. I'll continue the conversation after you gimme the answer. I don't want to dive into further and be wrong

Sorry, that was a poorly worded sentence. Boxing had the highest grossing PPV events for 07 and 08, and yes they were both DLH. However HBO boxing had the highest grossing single year in its history in 2007. That's the result of more than any single boxer.

I'm not delusional. I know the Golden Boy's departure will affect boxing, but to think it will die isnt close. Ricky Hatton and Pac have whole fucking countries bat-shit crazy about them. And with those two having all but signed to fight Feb 2009, I think boxing will pull through...
