After months of negotiations, distracions and arguments, both fighters have agreed upon to what may be the biggest fight in the history of New Zealand boxing. Heavyweights rivals David Tua (49-3, 42KOs) and Shane Cameron (22-1, 19KOs) will battle on June 6, with each receiving $500,000 dollars. Cameron has to first get past Leo Nolan on March 7 in Gisborne.

Former TVNZ boss Ian Fraser has come on as an adviser to fight promoters David Higgins and John McRae from Auckland's Duco Ltd, and the wheels are rolling for a $40 dollar pay-per-view to be likely televised through Sky Box Office. Because of a long legal battle with his former managers, Tua has been inactive since September 2007. He says the layoff will do him well against Cameron.

"It's true that I have been inactive for a long time but I have to say that it's been awesome because it has allowed me as a father and as a husband to make sure that part of our life is good for us. And now that will allow me to perform to my potential," Tua told Sunday News of New Zealand.

"A happy athlete is a good athlete. A happy fighter is a dangerous fighter. My priority for the last year has been to make sure my relationship with my wife is where it needs to be and my relationship with my sons is where it needs to be. Knowing that side of it is great allows me to have the peace of mind to be able to put all my energies now into preparing for this fight. There's nothing else for me to do now other than to concentrate on winning."

For those of you that dont know of Cameron hes Ranked # 6 in the world with the WBO.
Im stoked this fight is finally happening and i hope Tua pulls it off, if he comes in shape im pretty sure he will.
