He would not be able to do the same thing in boxing it would be impossible anderson silva wouldnt even be able to croos over to boxing and be successful it may take a variety of different disiplines to learn but at a far lower skill level in my opinion!

I'm definitely not as big of a fan of boxing as I am of MMA, but I try to follow whats going on and watch the bigger fights. Haven't been able to find the Morales/Maidana fight yet, but I'll definitely keep an eye out for it. I agree with you, boxing is still a great sport and in some ways it's so much more grueling then MMA, the guys have so much heart.

MMA also gives football and wrestlers something to do after college if they dont/cant go pro or to the olympics. | The best boxers have around 90% KO percentages, stoppages are just as common as in MMA. Also, you see a lot of really tough guys just quit in boxing, because there is something about being punched in the face for 12 rounds that is just different then what you see in MMA. If Sanchez/Kampmann were a boxing match, I bet you Sanchez would have had to quit near the end of the fight instead of just throwing some ridiculous haymakers and getting a BS decision.
The reason why ex-football players don't try boxing is because it is a much more refined sport then MMA right now. Guys have hundreds of amateurs boxing matches before they turn pro in boxing, the clubs are so much larger, and guys need to win 30+ fights before they really build up a big name. You would never see a guy like Lesnar just walk into boxing and win a major world title, it just doesn't happen.

Smaller gloves, submissions... LOL. To say MMA fighters have alot more athletic talent is another ignorant statement. How do you come to figure they have more athletic talent than boxers? Because they are better in more areas in Martial Arts makes them more ATHLETIC? Boxers train to fight for 12 rounds 36 minutes MMA... 3 rounds 15 minutes and they gas out lol. or 5 rounds 25 minutes. Come on. Some MMA greater than boxing arguements are really ignorant.

Dont want to see an old james toney, hopkings, or rjj boxing anymore.. huge fan of them but there are complete shells of their former self. Of course we have 2 all time greats fighting now in manny and floyd but that fight has been talked about for years, hopefully floyd will finally agree to fight him. Train boxing for 4+ hours a day but dont even have the desire to even try to go pro. mma is where its at nowadays. | Money wise boxing is still where its at. Mediocre boxers make about the same as top level MMA fighters.

Mid level fighters between 200-500,000. Lower level guys that make PPV cards get between 75-150,000
Espn friday night fights fighters get around 30 to 75,000. Overall boxers are still paid well more than MMA fighters.

That striaght that Stevenson floored Edwards with was a thing of Beauty one of the reasons why I love boxing.
