That striaght that Stevenson floored Edwards with was a thing of Beauty one of the reasons why I love boxing. | ya that wasnt a bad card. Rubio blocked almost all of those shots then came back when he was tired. too bad you cant block that many shots in mma that way, the smaller gloves. I wonder if david was too tired or a weak chin, russ came to his rescue.

Plus he tried way to hard to get the KO and ran out of gas another case of inexperience.

Russ should have told him to change things up later in the fight, he threw the towel in too soon imo.

He had no concept of how to defend himself while hurt, didn't attempt to tie up or anything. Just inexperience and over confidence. You have to train for every situation and obviously there was no training done for the possibilty of him getting hurt.

I've boxed since I was 5. I did Gold Gloves in Mississippi back in 96 and 97. I'm a old man now (32) lol I mainly train fighters in boxing and Muay Thai in Japan right now but I fight Muay Thai in local events here, the PI (phillippines) and Thailand.
Bout to head to the gym hope I can get into some more boxing conversations here again.

Well, we didn't have wrestling down here where I grew up. So I didn't follow wrestling at all. Was all about football and boxing. So yeah I was always into boxing in my younger years even trained it during my Jr. High and Highschool days, never actually fought just trained. And when I was a kid Tyson was murdering people so it was a great time for a kid to get hooked. Over the last few years though I've found I don't really watch boxing anywhere near as much as I used to and have since become even more of an MMA fan than I was back when UFC and Pride started, wihch I must say I was still a huge fan back then. But since wrestling has become so huge in MMA and a lot of wrestlers have shown they can do more than just wrestle I kinda wish we had that shit down here back when I was in school. Probably would of helped keep me grounded...heh... No pun intended. Anyways, I'm rambling now so back to the point. Boxing does have it's great fights every now and again but in my opinion, and besides the few exceptions, it just isn't the same anymore. Doesn't have the draw I want.

"no "grinding out" a win. "-This tells ME that YOU don't get to decide what a true mma fan is made of.

Unfortunately, it's just not as many boxing fans on here any more as most have went to the spot. You should come by during a big event or start a thread are 2 in the Boxing section over there. you will still get a good discussion from me, Afro, and a few others.
