No way?!? That's some stupid shit right there. The egos in boxing are unreal.

Worst call I've ever seen. I see Pacquiao filing a complaint, and getting the decision changed to a no-contest.

Yup, and then he wanted a little extra time to work out his calves or shins too. I mean really, Pacquiao doesn't make enough money to afford a DVR?

The sad thing about this is.....that now the fight between Manny and Floyd may actually happen, with Floyd getting a better cut. Floyd likes to fight guys with a little bit of tarnish these days, not really into taking on absolute killers at this point in his career. Maybe this fight weakens Manny's marketability enough to make Floyd more interested in taking the fight?

Bradley is like any other fighter, he will believe he won because he wanted to win so bad. I think the rematch will be much of the same, but with Bradley trying to stick and move even more. Manny will have to improve his foot work and cut off the ring better than he ever has. Actually a rematch could make Manny more dangerous for floyd if he can catch bradley and take him out, because floyd likes to use movement as a part of his defense as well. This decision will effect PPV sales for boxing in a very negative way for a long time.....

This kinda stuff makes me happy i got outta watching boxing years ago. It all started with the De La Hoya Trinidad decision then the last fight i actually watched was Klitchko VS Lewis.

It sucks i used to love boxing especially the free fights you could catch on USA network and ESPN back in the day then it just got so dirty and full of itself i had to walk away.

Is Bob Arum Behind The Timothy Bradley Decision Win Over Manny Pacquiao?

Quote:
Arum talked to ESPN after the fight, was he crying crocodile tears?

Quote:
"I've never been as ashamed of the sport of boxing as I am tonight.

"I'll make a lot of money off the rematch, but this was outrageous," he said.
Here's what Scott Christ of Bad Left Hook has to say:
Quote:
Well, here's the deal. Arum says he's concerned about the credibility of the sport, but whatever. The sport's credibility has probably been in the crapper for long enough at this point that it probably is more akin to a long-term floater than a fresh turd in the bowl.

...

Also, Arum not only doesn't have to hear "Mayweather-Pacquiao" again for the rest of 2012, but he doesn't have to deal with that damned Juan Manuel Marquez and his demands and ego, either. He's got another Top Rank vs Top Rank fight for November. I'm not accusing him of anything. I'm saying as a promoter, he can't really be that unhappy with what's going down here. There's a lot of potential upside if they figure out the right approach.
Is Bob Arum Behind The Timothy Bradley Decision Win Over Manny Pacquiao? - Bloody Elbow

Quote:
"Something like this is so outlandish, it's a death knell for the sport. This is f------ nuts. I have both guys, and I'll make a lot of money in the rematch, but it's ridiculous. You have these old f---- who don't know what the hell they're looking at. It's incompetence. Nobody who knows anything about boxing could have Bradley ahead in the fight."

Arum also claimed Bradley himself thought he lost: "I went over to Bradley before the decision and he said, 'I tried hard but I couldn't beat the guy.'"

Pacquiao's loss sparked outrage in his native Philippines. Filipinos around the world claimed the fight was "lutong bulok" (cooked rotten). Even Filipino politicians got into the act.

"President Benigno Aquino sought to console the public, stressing that Pacquiao remained a treasured sporting icon despite the loss.

'Manny Pacquiao failed to defend the WBO welterweight belt against Timothy Bradley, but the Filipino people’s support for their champion remains strong as ever,' Aquino spokeswoman Abigail Valte said in a statement.

“'This is clearly highway robbery,' senator Jose Estrada, who was at ringside in Las Vegas, told local radio in Manila by phone.

'Pacquiao clearly had more hits.'”

“Manny is still our one and only people’s champ; and we are proud of him.'”

Wtf.. Dont spit out false statements... HBO PPV didn't want to air the fight as the basketball game was still going on, so Bob Arum bought more ppv time and as soon as the game was over, they got the fighters to walk out. The only thing Manny did that was tad bit questionable was that he didn't tell Freddie Roach he was going to some traning room and hop on a treadmill (?) to stretch/ warm up his calves. According to him, he didnt do that before the Mosley or Marquez fight and it botherd him. As soon as they found him, they got him into the locker room and put on his gloves at the same time by two diffirent guys. They didn't give him anytime to warm up by hitting the mitts... His fault though in that aspect, but it wasn't because he wanted to watch the basketball game LMAO...

lol I wouldn't even use "debatable" as a word to describe the situation. There is nothing debatable about who won that fight. Manny Pacquiao easily won that fight.

and yeah Kevo, I'm pretty damn sure that Paquiao was advised to take a little extra time to let the NBA game to end and to let them hype the fight a little more (they were hugging bradley's balls all prefight, talking about how its such a tough fight and manny is taking him lightly, etc).

Either way, even if he was mostly responsible, he made up for it in my eyes with a brilliant display of superior technique, footwork, power, speed, everything.
