:banghead:
skill has little to do with it are you crazy man your telling me that if you can defend yourself you can get in there with chuck liddell or wand and be able to go just because you can defend yourself thats jus crazy and moronic to say skill has a hell of a lot to do with it not just because you can get in there and defend yourself and fight you have to have a hell of a lot of skill

I am not even going to touch the skill/no skill argument. Everyone with a brain knows if you are not skilled you will get killed in mma.

As far as soccer kicks go to a downed opponent they look great and are fun to watch but they are exponentially more dangerous than elbows. They are also more dangerous than kicks t the head standing up. The reason is the cervical portion of the spine is sent backwards vs. side to side. Far greater chance of a fracture that can lead to paralysis or death.

I agree with matt that you had to do something to put your opponent in that position or they made a mistake to get there but there are more than one way to finish the fight. Or there is more than one way to skin a cat as they say. (sorry git had to throw that in there)

i believe kicks to the head are no different than any other head strikes.i mean what about elbows.... all they do is cause a cut that can stop a fight and require very little skill ata all

Yeah. Leg kicks should be banned too, because they hurt a lot.

I think they should stay because I like to watch them. Watch Shogun/Kanehara and tell me you still want them removed.

Hahaha!!!

Head Kicks are dangerous to the fighter doin the kicking also, if your oponent is on the ground. Anyone who has fought knows this. It's kinda like a leg lock there are moments where your oponent can become in control because of the motions you take plus there is metatarsal damage that can occur if the opponent reads your kick right. As for skill try to kick some one in the head standing up thats hard without getting your self in trouble but a real effective way to get a KO. Stomps arn't kick and I don't agree with them.

im not a fan of elbows in competition.... one fighter could be dominating the fight completely, but the opponent gets one elbow which has no effect on opponent but opens a cut and the dominent fighter loses bout due to cut stopage.. there a great technique for street but for competition i think causes way to many wrong outcomes.. kicking a downed opponent does take skill though... watch sakuraba kick a downed opponent, then watch mark kerr kick a downed opponent... see the diffence.......
