I'd admit to thinking that knees to the head of a downed opponent is perfectly fine, as early Pride showed it stops stalling. There's little difference between kneeing to a downed fighter than kneeing a fighter in the clinch.
Soccer kicks & stomps are crazy & should not be allowed. At the end of the day I like mma, but I never want to see a man on the ground getting his head literally kicked in. This is taking the sport backwards, beside the fact that nearly everyone who uses soccerkicks & stomps cheat to do so. Any time you watch a Pride fighter give a soccerkick/stomp you watch as he graps the rope to stabalise himself.
Elbows again are fine, however I can understand why some people don't like them as most of the time they just cut the opponent open, but then that's why referees & doctors are at ringside to check the cuts aren't dangerous (except in the Edwards fight, when it was fine during the fight to continue, but not after the round ended???)
Anyways that's my take.

Anyways that's my take. | Purely specualation ,but they probably let the fight go b/c the cut wasn't that bad it just bled a lot ,but it wasn't getting in his eyes or anything and than they stopped the fight when the round was over probably b/c Yves corner couldn't stop the bleeding.

well it would be fine in a street fight, ufc and pride basically allow everything but i would like to see them start allowing headbutts. and take away the face stomp, them hurts like hell.

That may be the case perfectly.
I just didn't see any more damage done after they checked it during the round, so if the doctors said is was ok to fight on with the blood pouring from the wound why stop it a minute later. If they weere that worried about the cut why send him back for more?

Anyways that's my take. | Yea I hate when they stabalize them selves by holding on to something too I think that is what should be taken out because if you try to soccer kick with out that you are going to get grounded by a good fighter which I think is good.

i think soccer kicks are ok but two foot stomps are crazy!!! if you jump on top of buddys face with a two foot stomp you could litterally kill someone in one blow, imagine what an accident like that would do to PRIDES reputation, itd be known as a blood sport and i think it would lose TV time

I think stomps and kicks to the head while the opponent is down should not be allowed. I love seeing a good ass kicking as much as the next guy, but I definitely do not want to see a serious injury or death.
Elbows are great in my opinion (and I think Ken Shamrock is a pretty big fan of them also) because they can end a fight fast. I do not require a fight to go to a KO for it to be good.
I think someone said in an earlier post that elbows don't do much damage. I question this statement. To me they look like they hurt like hell and cause a fighters head to bounce all around and off the canvass.
