You know, maybe UFC is handling this the right way. Think about it. There's a lot of UFC fans who don't know who Shogun is, who Big Nog is, who Dan Henderson is, etc. It would be smart to have them come fight in the UFC for a few fight to win over the audience, then move them back to PRIDE so those not familiar with PRIDE will now have a reason to tune in. You know, at first I thought UFC was just gonna go after the big fish in PRIDE, bring them over, and leave the rest as a farm league. But now it looks like they have a strategy. Hopefully that's what the plan is; introduce the big names to the UFC fans then relaunch PRIDE with an even bigger audience.

Its still hard to say if that is indeed their long term plan, but yes, cross-promoting the two brands does seem like a no-brainer.

They are going to have to cross promote both orgs fighters before a big Megafight PPV to get the fans that don't watch both excited about the fights with guys from both orgs. Now that the deal is finalized, I think we are going to see the big plans laid out within the next week or two.
