i havn't seen alot of chatter about the gracie saku fight.

so here's my 2 cents. i thought it was actually a pretty good fight. gracie was in the best physical shape i've ever seen him in. and he fought at a higher level then i've ever seen him fight. his kicks actually were very good as apposed to the lunging front kicks he usually does going into a single leg.
the kicks he kept landing from his back were very effective and i've never seen a fighter quiet do it that well. it was funny yamasaki looked lost when royce was doing it, he kept stepping foward and back wanting to stand up royce, but since royce was landing effective shots he didn't.

that was the royce that should have shown up to fight hughes.

i wanted saku to win so bad. i really felt sorry for him after the fight. he looked very good at times and then just stalled at other times. when gracie was on his back for 2 minutes in the 1st round saku should have backed up and made him stand or go to the air to hit him. and it would have been nice if he checked one kick.

k-1 really should have made up a title for this fight so cali would have let it go 5 rounds. they weren't done fighting and though the crowd was booing it really was a vey well fought fight.

I dont think that Saku or Royce plan on staying in K1 for long (maybe I'm wrong, I dont know much about either of their contract statuses). Its really embarassing for an organization if your champ leaves and fights elsewhere. So, I think that they were smart not to potentially have their champ fighting elsewhere and taking the belt with them.

It was a decent fight IMO.
Other than the booing.Once again North American fans show that they have little class by taking part in this no minded activity.WAKE UP PEOPLE TRUE FANS OF MMA DONT BOO.

If it's a boring fight why woudlnt' you boo? I didn't see it but I'm just saying. I've seen a lot of pride fights that I would have booed if i was there. live.

It was their own fault for picking such a gigantic venue and then trying to flood it with free tickets. One report suggested the actual paid attendance was less than 3,000.

Then you should change your name to MEATHEAD.The ground game is an aspect of MMA.Not as exciting to watch (for some) as stand up but is a big part of MMA,and should be respected as such.If you boo the ground game your not a true fan,and should stick with watching kick boxing.

Booing just shows lack of respect,and how narrow minded you are towards MMA,and its fighters.

And if it was free for most in attendace it proves even more how soft headed they can be by booing.After the free show they probably went home and washed each other with a rag on a stick.

I was there and I almost booed this match, I mean it sucked. They were so tenative and really made for a boring match, I expected much more.

Dude the fight was mostly Royce standing and front kicking Saku in the knees. It was fucking boring.

3 rounds of that was more than enough, people may have actually fell asleep if it was a 5 rounder

I enjoyed the fight, but i didnt understand saku's reasoning for in the first round standing there while gracie kicked him in the knee's... If you arent going to go to teh ground and hit the guy then make them stand up and try to hit them. Dont stand there and get hit without doing anything to defend yourself.

How many dynamic Royce Gracie fights has anyone ever seen???????Everyone knows what to expect out of a Royce fight.So why boo it.
