| Step in the right Direction for Mariotti
I don't even think Jay Mariotti realized it but he gave props to the true MMA fighters today on the show when they talked about Johnny Morton who is an ex football player who tried making a go at mixed martial arts. Morton ended up being carried out on a stretcher. Mariotti said you can't just train for two months and think you can step in the ring with these guys.
Now while he is not backing MMA and is usually bashing it. At least today he acknowledged that these guys train and don't just show up to beat each other senseless like some reporters would still like you to believe. And while this doesn't make up for his slander of the sport it's at least a step in the right direction, which is a step away from ignorance.

even though he is taking a shot at morton and not actually showing support for mma, i do agree taht he atleast states that u cant jus step into the ring with those guys after training a few months. he is showing that there is skill needed for the sport.

If he indirectly gave props to MMA, It was unintentional on his part.

he didnt give props to MMA, he stated the obvious.. you cant train for months and become the worlds shuffle board champion can you? it goes without saying that you cant train for a few months and step into MMA and expect to win, thats not a prop.. thats one of those things that if you dont believe to be true then your an idiot.
