Exclamation Reason's WFA Event Failed To Live Up To Expectations

I know that when a new organazation gets going it has a few bugs to work out, but the WFA event had so many bugs it needs a damn exterminator. Here are my reasons to why the event was a dud.....

1. Hiring Goldberg as a commentator- My first thought is that the WFA would want to establish credability. Hiring a fucken former WWE/WCWwrestler is the last thing I want to do in order to establish credability. Not to mention that the rest of the commentators sucked as well.

2.Kimo testing positive for steroids- Enough said

3.Not knowing 24 hours out who is fighting

4.Refs did not press the action in alot of matches

5.Entrance ramp for fighters looked like something a radio shack employee put together.

6. Hiring the most boring ring announcer. Not to mention that he introduced every fighter twice.

7.Allowing that fat tub of lard Rico Rodrigues fight. That guy is a disgrace to MMA. He has literally eaten his way out of a career. A spot on celebrity boxing would be in order.

8.Crappy camera work and even worse ring lighting.

I'd be willing to give Ricco Rodriguez another chance. He was able to avenge a big loss on his record. At least he is moving in the right direction, as far as his weight goes. Wasn't he up to 320 lbs for his last fight? He definitely needs to lose some pounds - at least make the Heavyweight limit of 265 lbs - but he's got the skills and the experience. I'm willing to give him more time to come back, as his victory over Waterman surely will be a confidence boost for him.

1)Yeah i see where your comming from. I thought the same thing. I dislike Goldberg very much however, he was not as bad as i thought he would be and he seems to have an honest love for the sport. But you are right about the other commentators they suched. It seemed like the old man had never even watch MMA before.

2)Not WFA's fault Kimo was roiding up.

3)Once again not their fault and they did the best they could under the circumstances.

4)I agree with you there slightly.

5)Agree with you there all the way. Entrance ramp looked like crap. Should have just let them walk out with no crapy entrace area. Just come out form behind the curtain like UFC does these days. If your not going to do it right then dont do it at all.

6)Yeah the ring anouncer sucked and it bothered me that he was introducing everyone twice. Plus he was saying things that werent even true. Like saying Rampage is a UFC veteran when hes not.

7)Yeah Ricco is fat and should drop alot of weight but he still won and is still an name in MMA.

8)Agreed

After watching the WFA the one thing I really want to say is im just glad i didnt have to pay for it. I would have been very pissed droping $35 on it.

That Ricco fight was a joke. It looked like two Dinosaurs in frigging slow motion. Put that fat tub into the ring with anyone with heart and they'll drag his fat ass into the second round and slap his tired cellulite around like a little girl. Ron Ron didn't do anything during the fight. In fact he didn't really attempt anything. I'm not entirely convinced he didn't throw the fight. If it wasn't for the last fight, this would have been the worst MMA pay per view i've ever purchased. It still may be.And the production of this event looked exactly like UFC 10 years ago. I understand that you're just starting out, but if you want to compete against the UFC you have to start where they are now, not 10 years ago. I wouldn't dream of getting their next pay per view unless something huge happens between now and then, like the entire UFC roster moving to WFA. Which apparently wouldn't happen since Rampage was whining about his pay in the middle of the ring during their FIRST pay per view. HOLY CRAP! put a muzzle on that dude he just made you look even more sham.

The whole production was pretty bush league. Quadros is creepy. The old man commentator looked liked a 70s game show host. The graphics looked liked something my 2 year old draws on noggin.com. Ricco was fat! holy shit! I take back everything bad I said about Mir in the past few weeks -- he looks like Twiggy next to Ricco. Waterman gassed before the starting bell. If it weren't for Lindland nearly beating the seriously over-hyped rampage, I woulda felt like I got pick-pocketed $35. No way I'll buy the next one.

I wanted this show to be good and it let me down a bit. BUT!!!!

I still cant believe i have all these options to watch MMA now. To think I was at UFC 6 in the front row with a bunch of rednecks (I am one as well I suppose) in Casper WO watching Tank do something horrid to that huge Pineapple and thinking we would never see another event.

Now we are looking at UFC in the sixties and three new events plus smaller shows. Im amazed.

I cant see how WFA can bounce back from this.

think about what your saying.. a former ufc champ and your saying anyone with heart could beat him.. im not saying i like ricco but your just being foolish saying he is a joke.. maybe we should see if youve got enough heart to knock his fat ass out.
