I'd like to see him actually fight Kimo after having seen the build up. Then, if he wins, put him up against Ken Shamrock again. Other possible alternatives include Frank Shamrock, Don Frye (LostChief was onto something), or Tank Abbott - for the comedy factor.
Me and some friends were just talking a bit last night about this.
IF I WAS KING OF THE WORLD, this is what I would do.
I would offer up Bas some $$$$$$$CASH$$$$$$$ to get in the ring for a light heavy title shot with whoever is holding it in a few months.
Now Im not insane, nor is it my body that would get in the ring and smash around at Bas's current age. That being said, HE IS IN FANTASTIC SHAPE@!!
If anyone deserves a comeback title fight its this guy. And I truly believe that if the ACL can heal with rehab etc. He could get a title again at 205.
Otherwise I would as KING OF THE WORLD bring together a fight with Vanderlie that almost hap years ago. As the KOW both fighters would be set for life afterwards and we could all marvel at the athletes in action.
I've always wanted to see Bas-Vanderlei, since Bas has always talked about it. But the topic was realistically, and I doubt realistically that fight can happen.
If it is against another IFL coach then it could be Maurice Smith, Mark Coleman or Matt Lindland.
I wonder how long Bas will take off until his next fight. He had a few nagging injuries for the WFA event, so probably not again until the end of the year.
