MMA New Fight Format

Has there ever been a match or contest where the match consisted of four total combatants and they alternated between them when the round ended.

For instance let's say in a six round match and #1 vs #2 go first round if nobody is knocked out or submitted and it goes to a 2nd round they wait for #3 and #4 to have their 1st round they could they sit outside the ring, and strategize recompose themselves and get ready for their round 2 while the #3 and #4 finish up their first round.

Imagine the non-stop action and with the longer periods of rest the fighters would be fresher and be able to get out the best of their abilities all the while the crowd/viewers are still entertained and entering their wagers.

What brought this idea up was being in the casino in the sports book during a NFL football game and when the game was well under way lots of people would go bet on the game being viewed during commercial breaks , and especially during halftime people would flood to the counter to place wagers for the 2nd half.

If a big fight had more time between the next round it could make betting on a already in progress match possible as well as give a exposed hurt fighter time to recoup his energy or injury and have a better chance at turning the tide of the fight.

I dont know really would be great to see one of the MMA fight associations try out some new fight formats , what do you guys think ?

I like mma the way it is.Leave the tag team battle royal shit to wrestling.

kinda cool idea, kinda lame at the same time. but eaither way u cannot expect to see that any time soon, however i have seen mma events where there r like 3 cages by each other with 3 differnt fights, so u can watch which ever ones you want.

Tag team fighting in mma?

No I don't think there has & to be honest I don't think it'd work.

The fighters would get a 5 minute rest between rounds while the other fight takes place, that's too long.

As already said, the format of mma at the moment is fine, although I prefer Prides 10 minute opening round than the UFC 5 minute rounds, but I think that's the US fight commissioners regulations.

This is quite possibly the dumbest idea in the history of dumb ideas. The worst part is you put so much effort into it.
