Any comments on MTV's "Final Fu"? I thought it was really weak! The sparring was ridiculous with no hits to the head being allowed. I actually taped one fight to check out the punch count and thought it was a joke when one of the girls was awareded 32 points ( I counted 8 actual strikes).

Reyes tried MMA a few years ago and got his butt kicked. Most of the "fighter" look like XMA idiots (great athletes with no actual fighting skills).

But then this is just my opinion....:banghead:

I saw some of it, and I thought it was a joke too. If I remember correctly they couldn't strike to the head or below the knees.

Ain't seen it, but I heard it's absolutely stupid. One of them women's channels, oxygen or something is coming out with an MMA show. BET is coming out with an MMA show. Lots of people are jumping on board, but everyone is trying to be different than the others - which ultimately just means a weaker brand. See IFL. They got enough money to just be another UFC type promotion, that with their fighter-first mentality could and with the MMA popularity right now probably would eventually be on par with UFC. They already got the TV deal, and UFC got their entire kick-start with nothing but the internet and an FSN deal, along with PPVs. IFL could do it too. Anyways, that's my rant.

It is supposed to test different matial artist to see who is the best but it is only a couple styles TKD karate kung fu. no BJJ muaythai kickboxing wrestling boxing...basically nothing effective. It is actually pretty painful to watch. I thought that since the UFC is big now we were past dancing and acrobatics as a form of self defense but I guess I was wrong

This show should have come out 15 years ago when ppl still thought all of the fancy flying bullshit actually worked. And beyond that the show is just flat out gay.

XMA is extreme martial arts....but it is as far from extreme as you can possibly get. It is a bunch of gymnastics and screaming at the top of their lungs. These guys would not last a round in a full contact MMA match.

THey are an embarrasment to true martial arts....the art of self-defense.
