Frank Trigg?

i noticed he's still a top 10 welterweight in the MMANews rankings but isn't he effectively retired? or is he just doing the Pride commentary thing for now until he gets a good fight lined up? what's his deal?

"The following rankings were compiled by the MMANews.com team on Thursday, April 20, 2006."

I think those rankings were made up before he was offically retired.

I htought he retired also if he is going back to fighting he needs to get with a good camp. After that ROTR loss and the infamous amouts of RNC's he really needs to work on some things. The thing is I believe he "could" be a great fighter if he did....

I agreee. He has all the necessary physical tools, just needs to put it all together. Saw the Trigg/Hughes 2 fight again and he has what it takes to fight top opponents...I think for him it's more mental than anything.

Yeah he was in control up until he got caught with the choke.

Trigg announced his retirement, i do believe. MMA Weekly's rankings seem to indicate that also.

It is easy to control the fight if you get a good knee to the fella's in first!

Well considering that Frank Trigg himself votes on those rankings as do many of his MMA friends, and the fact that he is a host for MMAWeekly Radio.... I can't say I am too surprised.

He has the ability to kick top opponents in the balls. Just playing, he does have talent but I think him get destroyed by GSP, along with other things, made him realize he is getting older and the top competition is getting better. I would like to see him vs BJ Penn though, could be good.

Yeah that would be a good fight; GSP absolutely dominated Trigg when they fought.

wasn't that the fight where he caught Hughes with a low-blow and the ref didn't stop the fight to let Hughes recover?
