BJ Penn has already beaten Hughes and will beat him again in a rematch. The WW division is in the UFC is the deepest division in MMA with the exception of HW in Pride and it seems like alot of their fighters may be jumping ship over the course of the next year.

I have this gut feeling that Hughes is going to take this one in a great fight. Of course Hughes is my favorite fighter, but all bias aside I think he wins this one in the third or fourth round. I like GSP, think he's def one of the best and classiest fighters around, but I still think Hughes takes him.

He's been at the top of his game lately | He's been at the top of his game against sub par fighters. Since he beat GSP he fought Trigg who was a challenge but besides that Joe Riggs, not top ten, and Royce who is old and one dimensional. Since the Hughes fight GSP has beat up Mayhemfor three rounds, beat Trigg in more impressive fashion then Hughes ever did, destroyed Sherk, and got the W over Penn who took hughes belt. If you just look at the records you would think GSP was the champ. I like both fighters very much but GSP is the beginning of the new wave of MMA. If GSP doesn't finish it in the 1st or 2nd I see it going to decision, and that is not good news for Georges.

GSP is awesome but I'll admit I'm a Matt Hughes mark.
To be the man you got to beat the man... and right now in the UFC Matt Hughes is the man!
Matt by submission. (again)

I've been waiting for this fight for a long time and I believe this will be one of the greatest MMA fights of all time with BOTH of these guys at the top of their games

MMA is looking amazing in the next few months. GSP vs Hughes could be the greatest welterweight wars ever. If Franklin really is gonna fight A. Silva that could be one of the best MW fights ever, plus the Bushido tournament promises for some great 183 lb action. The pride owgp looks amazing so far: http://forums.mmanews.com/showthread.php?t=1194
And Silva vs Liddell could very likely be the most exciting fight ever. Im gonna be broke after ordering all of these events!
And I almost forgot to mention Bas being back in action is good for the soul.

If GSP can avoid being submitted, I think he can outpoint Hughes in a decision. But I just don't think he -- or anyone really -- can hurt, submit or ko Matt. He's just way too good.
