everyone cuts, but just because you can make a weight doesn't mean that it is your best weight. It isn't as simple as making weight and then putting 20 pounds on overnight. If someone is cutting that much it should be done over the course of several weeks, which takes lots of effort and it is very taxing on the body. Sometimes a fighter can be better if they are on full feed at a higher weight.

That being said, most people are well served by fighting at the lowest possible wieght. Not everyone, however.

It's "you're", not "your". As in "You're a dumb fuck because you havent learned proper grammar." So again, who said it wasnt?

you're implying that they should fight at their natural weight. they dont because cutting weight is part of the business to be a stronger fighter. see the dots connecting yet

"See the dots connecting yet"? Well at least you got "you're" right. Re-read the thread a little slower if you need to. I said Franklin, who weighs the same as Bisping, dropped down to a lower weight class, without actually losing weight, to dominate it. He weighs the same as a LHW but fights as a MH...gee I wonder why he dropped down?(on paper anyway)

the point is that almost everyone does too. so franklin walking in the cage at 200 is pretty big, but the crow was probably rite there with him if not a little bigger

He walks in at 205 to 210, not 200. He's fights at MW but he weighs in at LHW when he fights. I know almost everyone does it, and I'll admit it's a pet pev of mine. However, it's a bit of a joke when two fighters weigh the same during their fights (or sometimes one weighs more than the other) and they fight in different weight classes (with the heavier fighter sometimes fighting in a lighter weight class).

It's about keeping it within their weight class. They shouldnt be allowed to fight at 185, for example, if they weigh over the weight limit of the next class when it's fight time. I'm not a big fan of open weight tournaments, and they wont happen in North American anyway because of sanctions. I would just like to see, even though it'll never happen, two guys fighting in the same weight class who fight at the same weight. Again, it's just a pet pev of mine. And I honestly believe Franklin only dropped down to dominate (do you think we'd hear much about him if he continued at 205? As I recalled a 205er handed him his ass a few years back and he dropped down to 185). And I hope Bisping stays at 205.
