UFC 60 Undercard Discussion

With UFC 60 a day away a little discussion about the undercard would be good. everyone knows about the main event but the undercards is very solid aswell. please no Gracie vs Hughes talk in this thread

Here is the Undercard
Brandon Vera vs. Assuerio Silva
Joe Riggs vs. Mike Swick
Diego Sanchez vs. John Alessio
Melvin Guillard vs. Rick Davis
Spencer Fisher vs. Matt Wiman
Dean Lister vs. Alessio Sakara
Fabiano Scherner vs. Gabriel Gonzaga
Jeremy Horn vs. Chael Sonnen

right off the bat there are 4 fights that could go either wasy IMO

Vera vs Silva
Riggs vs Swick
Lister vs Sakara
Scherner vs Gonzaga

IMO the best fight on the entire card is Vera vs Silva and this fight will do 1 of 2 things it will either show that The Truth is for real if he beats silva or it will show that Assurio deserves another shot at sylvia and vera isnt there yet. should be exciting either way as both guys can stand up. vera should have the advantage in that area and silva has the advantage on the ground. i think silva will be to strong for vera and take him down and from their submit him.

actually i would see it the other way, Assurio used to train wit Chute Boxe so i'd give him the edge on feet. but on the ground Vera is a lloyd Irvin brown belt and is a veteran of Grappler's Quest

this question has already been asked a trillion times on this forum.

first of all its not only about that fight i was just trying to get things started

LA- the only reason i say that is ive seen assurios ground game and its pretty good. hes also submitted some solid grapplers. vera ive seen him standing and hes looks to be more well rounded then silva. i heard he was solid on the ground but from what ive seen silva looks better.

LA Suxs 05-26-2006 06:16 PM

well Vera's credentials are mcuh better in grappling. he's been in many superfight Grappler's Quest tournaments. and being a Lloyd Irvin brown belt really means something if you follow the RANK events. Valentijn Overeem is a very suspect grappler if you're holding him as one of the ppl that Assuerio submitted thaty is supposed to be tough to submit. Scherner maybe though i didnt see exactly how it happened. For all we know he could have been weakend and stunned by strikes

and btw we couldnt catch this subject in between the discussions of junior to senior membership and look at the pages go wit useles posts

Kass101 05-26-2006 08:30 PM

ya, i wish i could see some of veras fights in grapplers quest. but i was more counting the scherner fight and overeem fight was odd in that it looked like he let silva sub him. he didnt do anything just layed there.

who knows were the only ones talking in here and we get 20 pages of crap. the only other post in here is by someone saying this thread is stupid.

LA-what do you think about the scherner gonzaga fight? since i know there both grapplers.

I cant wait to see Guillard vs The Flying Squirrel

LA Suxs 05-26-2006 09:00 PM

actually i'm going wit Na-Pao he's a better grappler. and i dint see much from Scherner to make me think hius striking will be the deciding factor in the match. Na-Pao is a sick grappler. on the other hand although a black belt, i still haven't seen much to back-up that belt in MMA from Pega-Leve. from the little knowledge i know i have it that the same trials that Scherner didn't make for the last ADCC, is the same one Na-Pao won
