Kos has picked up some decent boxing since training with aka..gsp is still a better striker, but kos can use his striking to get inside and work from the clinch like couture did against liddell in the first fight, take gsp down, and gnp him. he just has to be careful not to get sweeped and/or sub'd.

I think he would beat hughes, but i dont want to look ahead. | I think that last fight with Diego is why a lot of people don't like Kos. He barely pulled off a snooze fest decision against a weakened Diego. He hardly used his bread and butter (wrestling) and when he did, Diego quickly took his back. It was a really disappointing fight.

He will have to beat gsp down for me to consider him the top dog at Welterweight. I'm rooting for him against gsp, but i'm iffy ab it. Kos will need a great gameplan to pull this one off

He got in a little scramble at the end of the first when Kos took him down but other than that Kos did what he wanted when he wanted. But... I will agree that it was indeed a boring fight.
He's a smart fighter though, underrated and hated on this message board by most for some reason.... In reality though he's better than Hughes on his feet, just as athletic as GSP, and is the best wrestler GSP will ever have seen...I think he's going to give Geroges all he can handle.
I think it will go 3 rounds. Kos by UD.

I don't have a problem with Kos, nor do I have a problem with how his fight went with Diego. I thought he fought a very smart fight, and did what he had to do to beat Sanchez, and it worked. Granted, it was not the most exciting fight in the world, and Kos did talk it up after the fight, but I really dislike Diego, and was so happy to see him lose his 1st fight. Diego needed to be brought back down to earth.
Now against GSP; Kos has come a long way in his stand up, no doubt about that, however he is still light years behind GSP. If he plays the same game he did against Diego, he will absolutely get knocked out, and it will be highlight reel material.
It'll be very interesting to see GSP's take down defence against Kos' takedowns - to me, that is the key to the fight. Kos has to take GSP down early, and put him on his back to have any chance, however getting the opportunity to do so may not be that easy. GSP's striking is so fast and effective, just like with Hughes, he may get in enough strikes early on to wear Kos down to the point where his takedown efforts may get severely diminished. If he does manage to take GSP down, he will have to GnP GSP quickly after taking him down to win, otherwise GSP's BJJ will take over, and Kos may very well get swept, or submitted. Just like GSP's standup, I believe GSP's BJJ is light years ahead of Kos as well.
I can't wait for this fight!

Means he'll be in there 100% agaist the man, I wouldn't want a down-hearted disappointed man in there, I want someone to test GSP fighting skills and it looks like Kos is the man to so it ( again ). I won't bash Kos by saying he was a built up fighter or anything like that, he really know what he's doing up there on the fight stage, I'm just saying GSP will hand him his second loss, he never met a fighter in GSP's calibur yet and this will give him a real example of what it's like at the top.

I want to see what GSP does against someone that is just as quick and strong as he is, if not stronger. I can see GSP rocking Kos on the feet and GNP'ing on the ground for a stop. I can see Kos winning a decision or even getting a sub. If Kos can deal with Joslin, he will have no problem dealing with GSP on the ground. Kos will come into this fight with his best standup yet, and he did not look that bad against Sanchez. He had some very nice kicks actually. I think all the people that think GSP will destroy Kos are in for a rude awakening.

Well, for at least the rest of that weekend.
