Official!! Tank v.s Buentello It is confirmed for the October Strikeforce card. I say Paul by 2nd round TKO. Tank will gas after the initial onslaught. Should make for an exciting fight. Thoughts????? -Source Sherdog.com |
Nice little match up for the Strikeforce card. Glad to see that Paul is finally fighting again since UFC has failed to re-sign him for some reason or another. I give Paul the edge in this one, but Tank has the big puncher's chance. I don't see this one making past the 1st round. Both of these guys like to bring it right away. |
ur a jerk i wanted to be the first person to tell everybody on mmanews but oh well........... sounds like a good fight but isnt buentello still fighting ufc what up with that |
I wish the UFC would've kept Buentello he was exciting and was on a nice little run untill he lost to AA.This is a big loss to an already dwindling UFC HW division. |
is it for sure that he not in the ufc? |
well he's fighting in Strikeforce which has no ties to the UFC, and Buentello himself has said that UFC has not offered him a new contract, so I would say that's a pretty good sign he's not in the UFC. |

Even more so of a huge loss is the UFC not resigning Wuiff! Why in the hell would you not keep this man? He was on an 18 fight win streak before loosing to Babalu and with him in the LHW division the UFC would have a Pride like LHW division. We would've seen a Tito vs Wuiff #1 contender match following the Chuck vs Babalu fight unless Babalu was the victor in which case UFC would likely give an immediate rematch to Chuck but then again, maybe not. Now with the top 3 being Chuck, Babalu and Tito, if Chuck looses he may have to fight Tito for the contender spot. |

I'm with ArMnHC on this one Wiuff wasn't really a huge loss. He's lost his last 3 matches including his only 2 matches in IFL. If he can't cut it there, he can't cut it in the UFC. Now don't get me wrong I like Wiuff, he's a solid fighter and trains at a good camp, but he isn't "#1 contender match" material. Back to the topic of the thread, I don't think Buentello is a big loss for the UFC. He's just a solid HW midcarder I enjoyed watching at times. I'm glad someone else snagged him up, he'd been waiting for a bit. |
Buentello will be back in the UFC. This simply smacks of not being able to come to an immediate contract agreement, and Buentello hasn't fought since January of this year. This was about the time for him to get another fight, somehow, someway, somewhere, and if it wouldn't be in the UFC, then so be it. It's too bad, because the UFC easily could have had a Buentello/Monson fight on a UFN card to set up the number 1 contender for Sylvia, as well as a potentially exciting fight with Brandon Vera. But I think Buentello, compared to loads of other American heavyweights, is a guy that more than deserves to be in the UFC, and will fight his bigger fights for the UFC. |
