Question about Frank Shamrock?

Yea first off i would just like to say i think Frank is the true "Worlds Most Dangerous Man". I cant think of anyone that he couldn't beat at 185.With him vs Rich being an all-time classic matchup. I know there is some shit between him and Dana right? so him fighting in the UFC prolly not goin to happen. But he is with strikeforce correct? also goin to be coaching with IFL so does anyone if he has a multipy fight deal with strikeforce or just take em one fight at a time? I heard he would be fighting again this year so bascially i would like to know, who do you guys would be the best oppenent for him and also where will his next fight be?

He called out Phil Baroni at the last Strikeforce event in June. According to Baroni he has already signed the dotted line and is waiting for Frank. I don't know if Frank becoming coach of a new IFL team will get in the way of that fight or what. I just hope to see him fight again sometime in the near future.

are you still living back in 1999 he was just the first person to be well rounded he would get smashed on by anybody nowaday. if he fought tito again he would get schooled. since he did beat some crappy people {that gracie guy}he should move up a level . marquadt , louisauo, swick ,or any body in 185 pounds

he despises the UFC and wouldn't fight for them(or so he says), so it would be kind of hard for him to fight Marquardt, Swick, or Loiseau. Wouldn't mind seeing Shamrock fight Horn or Lindland though. That would be more of a possibility since both are affiliated with the IFL as of now.

yea but still i was right he completlyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy overrated

NinjaShogunRua 08-07-2006 08:47 PM

I wouldn't say completely overrated. He's definitely an MMA legend and holds a nice career record. But it's hard to gauge where he's at at today's point. He really hasn't fought any top competition since Tito in '99, and even at that point Tito was just up and coming. His decision win over Elvis was disappointing.

I'd just like to see him fight some top competition so we can see where he's really at today as fighter. As you said beating "that gracie guy" aka Cesar Gracie doesn't really show much.

the only thing remotely true in the whole statement is when you say he was the first well-rounded fighter. He would get smashed on by anyone nowaday? On what basis? the guy hasnt lost in almost 10 years and he still isnt that old. Given that he hasnt fought much in the last 5 years but im sure he has stayed in shape and has been doing alot of teaching and training. Im mean im not saying he could step right in and fight Rich right now but give him a few more warm up fights, and I defiently think he could give Rich a run for his money. Although its highly unlikely, I for one would love to Frank back in the UFC and im pretty sure im not he only one. Come on man the guy is a true LEGEND give him alittle respect and he would defiently not get "schooled by any body in 185 pounds".

absolutely. frank shamrock is still one of my all time faves and shows no sign of not being able to hang nowadays. not being as dominant is a diff story, but he can def hang still
