this sucks. if vera wins: no more mir. if mir wins: its back to the drawing board for vera. although i don't see this fight going any but one way. vera will kill. vera might as well be fighting a bag of fat liposuctioned from marlon brando's ass

If the old pre-accident Mir shows up, this could be a war and he has a decent shot at winning it on the ground. That would be great for the fans

If the Mir from his last fight shows up, he better drive a golf cart to the ring to keep from gassing.

According to Vera's website- Brandonvera.com- He is taking on mir at UFC 62. At first glance I thought it might be a typo, maybe UFC 63 or 64. I mean Mir just fought. If this fight goes down, I see Vera winning. His stand-up is much better, better wrestling, and Vera's jiu-jitsu is almost as highly regarded as Mir's. Let's keep our fingers crossed on this one, it would add some much needed life to the card. Who's your pick????????

I don't think Mir winning will push Vera too far down since Mir is the former champ and Vera is far too exciting in a lacking division to push too far down the ladder. It would just delay his inevitable title shot.

I did not notice the previous post reporting this fight. I say Vera will take this one easier than a lot expect. If Mir wants to ever be a force in the HW division, he needs this win.

Mir is one of my favorites since he dominated Tank and Wes Sims but i do not see him winning this fight unless Vera is careless on the ground 80% of all fights go to the ground that is a fact. I dont think this will be a match at UFC 62 because we r like 2 1/2 weeks away and usually a match of this calliber would be announced after the liddell-sobral match or the Griffin-Bonnar match.

I agree a loss by Vera won't hurt him too bad..............Don't count out Mir just yet. If he can get into shape, he has a GREAT shot at winning this fight. It's just a question of how good of shape will he get himself into????

mmaweekly is reporting on its rumor page that it is happening on the ufc 63card, So I would agree that this fight is not gonna happen on the 62 card. Mir needs more time to get into shape to make this a good fight.
