Mir's obviously got something, actually, a whole f'in lot to prove to the UFC, to Dana White, to the fans, to the MMA community, and more importantly, to himself. He's still got a pretty loyal fan following, and a lot of people want to give him the benefit of the doubt that he can still turn his career around. It's definitely a good fight to put on this card (seeing as how UFCs 63 and 64 are already shaping up to be very solid, if not exceptional cards), but Mir absolutely has to come out in the best possible shape, 100% focused, and with extra reserves of heart and grit and determination. He's going to need it, because Brandon Vera looks to be the UFCs next version of Georges St. Pierre: on paper, a relatively inexperienced, yet undefeated fighter, but in the cage or ring, and absolute fighting wunderkind who fights as if he's had Evan Tanner's experience and a Forrest Griffin knack for excitement. Matter of fact, the parallels are almost too eerie: Vera's first HW title fight would most likely be against Tim Sylvia, a Militich guy. GSP's first title fight was against Matt Hughes, THE Militich guy.
