I dont no if this has been talked about already but ive just been reading an article on this years pride absolute grand prix and i saw that Wanderlei Silva and Mirko “CroCop” Filipovic fought at pride 20 and it was a draw so i was wondering who do u think will win this time?

Silva is winnin the whole damn thing

This is gonna be a great scrap if Crocop decides to fight.

the last time I saw him in a big fight was against Mark Hunt & he pussied around throwing little jabs, afraid to slug it out with Hunt.

I don't think he'll do that in this fight cos he's got a real good chance of beating Silva.

I'd give it to Crocop, but it's definately a fight I want to see!

I would like to see Crocop win this one, but either way it should be a great fight. :grinsmile1:

Cro Cop. last time, Wandy took advantage of CC's shitty takedown defense, and just sat in his guard the whole time, and occasionally hit him. now, CC's TD defense is much much better, and Wandy will simply go for the war, see who can outstrike the other.

it's an interesting matchup, since Cro Cop is methodical, picking his shots and destroying his opponent in combinations, but Wandy charges in and tries to rip the other guys head off. interesting matchup of mindset

i say crocop not really sure why but a part of me wants the fight to end without wand fighting a lot so he wont get hurt so he can go on to fight liddell

Last time they fought Wand out struck him and most of the fight was on the feet.What the fuck do you mean Crocops shitty takedown defense???:confusedsmilie: I think Wand takes this b/c Crocop buckels under pressure-(Hunt/Crocop Crocop was litterally running away from Hunt.Crocop/Wand Crocop was getting beat up)The only reason the last fight was a draw was b/c of special rules in which there were no judges.

i just rewatched it and there wasn't a whole lot of domination in the standup on Wandy's size. Wandy engaged a lot more though, and he did do some good work the few times he got the Muay Thai clinch, his knees made some good connections. however, i wouldn't call it domination, just engaging the more hesitant Cro Cop

and most of the 1st and 2nd rounds, Wandy took Cro Cop down, and used some GnP, but didn't have the ability to win the fight


and i do agree that Cro Cop does not perform well when being stalked, he's very methodical and likes to be able to step back and pick his shots

I love both of these guys but I think this time it's so incredibly close with the way these guys have developed over the years, either one could KO 50/50.

A small part of me though wants to see CroCop win and go on to win the OWGP because he has not won anything big from his K-1 days or in PRIDE. AND I want Wanderlei to be fresh for Chuck.

But then again I love Wanderlei, and Wanderlei VS Fedor would be crazy, as much as CroCop deserves a rematch with Fedor.
