It Doesnt Matter Who Wins,the Point Is That We Will Get Some Good Matches. Pride And Ufc Would Do Well In Working Together And Keep This Kind Of Rivalry Going. This Will Bring More Interest And The Popularity Will Continue To Grow. I Dont See Either Organization Totally Dominating The Other,but It Will Be Fun To Watch Both Try. Pride Presidents Comments Is Just A Way To Sell Tickets. If He Is That Cocky,i Hope Ufc Takes All The Pride Belts,then Maybe He Will Be A Little More Humble. Either Way,we Are In For One Hell Of Series Of Matches.

This would be good for mma as a whole, but from top to bottom Pride has it on lock. maybe the 170 pound division other than that no way .

I love the way that people tounge Pride nuts on this site.I think that both organization have there strengths.I see Pride having better heavier fighters and the UFC having better lighter weight fighters.I see this as a great thing for MMA fans reguardless if you are a Pride or UFC fan.I am a UFC fan but I have seen several Pride fights and enjoy them just as much.I mean Pride has some great fighters.Fedor is one bad mudder trucker and I love those Cro Cop axe kicks.However I think it is ironic that so many people "mark out" to an organization that wouldn't bring a fight to the US becasue there wasn't enough money to be made here. Yet now that the UFC has paved the MMA way here they are bringing their promotion to the US.Great for us.I also think that Chuck Liddell doesn't get near enough credit for what he has done.Chuck is a great fighter and he is popular because he knocks people the fuck out.Simple as that.I cannot stand Tim Sylva, I hope he soon get's KTFO.I guess what I am trying to say is that for Sakakibara to say this is not only very arrogent but totally untrue.The word devour was a very poor choice.American's tend to protect there own products and why should the UFC be any different.Pride will be sucessful in the US but not by making statements like this.It will be interesting to see what happens.

None of the fights would be guaranteed but if I were a betting man, I would put money on every Pride champion over every UFC champion with the exception of Hughes. I think both UFC fighters would actually be underdogs via vegas odds (maybe Franklin would be ahead but I really can't imagine how otehr than them basing it on record and frankly, that would be ignorant as Hendo is undefeated in his weight class, his only losses are to Bog Nog, Lil Nog, Wandy and Arona but he has wins over world class fighter after world class fighter including #2 ranked fighter in the world Big Nog as I really don't see how a fighter with Hendo's accomplishmetns would be an underdog and would "definitely" lose).

Plain and simple, UFC has Hughes and that is it as far as champions, I hope the Chuck vs Wandy fight happens and it is good but I have my doubts that Chuck will be able to handle Wandy but I would like to see a good fight nonetheless.

Sherk vs Gomi I dunno, Sherk would not be able to stand up and strike with Gomi and IMO he would have a difficult time getting Gomi to the ground as Gomi is extremely fast and illussive, could be a good fight but I would have to go with Gomi on this one, very accurate and powerfull striker, lightning fast and strong enough IMO to avoid the takedown.

But you never know, Sherks only 2 losses are to fighters that were stronger than him and GSP raped him, he made that look so easy and Sherk has bever faced someone like Gomi.

I would love to see any UFC vs Pride matchup as long as it was a UFC or PRIDE champion vs at least a good opponent, would not have to even be champion vs champion to start out, I would be content with like Chuck vs Nakamura or even Tito vs Nakamura to start out with.

I guess you've never heard of paragraphs. Anyway, there are by far more UFC fans here than Pride fans. Most of us are fans of MMA in general. You bash Pride fans and say people "mark out" to a certain Organization yet you say you are a UFC fan, so does that make you a UFC "mark" since you prefer them?

I don't think Pride can walk through all the UFC fighters. Matt is at the top of his game, Rich also, Chuck is on a roll. Even after I disregard these facts, I will explain to everybody that MMA is growing rapidly and over the next few years you will see some of the baddest up and coming fighters to take the MMA field and open some eyes. It is ignorant to think all the best fighters are in Pride, this "superbowl" they speak of will settle this tobacle; but it won't just be Pride and UFC, it will also be the WFA and others......

I agree man. And most true MMA fans think that way as well. I hate the UFC/PRIDE fan bickering. Of course everyone has a preference, but if you truly love MMA, you're a fan of both.

Both organizations have their advantages and disadvantages. Neither are perfect. I just hope some day people just start rooting for the fighters, rather than the stupid Pro Wrestling style UFC vs Pride crap.

I never bashed anyone.I guess I write paragraphs as good as you can read. I wrote that I am a UFC fan but I enjoyed the Pride fights just as much.
