Renzo is one of my favorites because of his willingness to go with anybody. he'll stand and trade with anyone, regardless of his preference for the ground, and his GJJ is pretty good. not quite as good on the ground as Rickson or Royce, he's still immensely talented.
hes fought BJ, Saku, Newton, and Hendo. he may have lost, but he's got brass balls for fighting some of the best fighters in the world
i like Ryan too, because of his willingness to stand and bang with anyone. i see him as the future of the Gracie name in MMA, kids that can roll with the best, but have the willingness to stand and trade

Isn't Ryan on permanant hiatus cos he shot himself in the leg last year?
I heard that he was 10 minutes from death & that he may never fight again, but I can't find anything of an update.

Yeah I heard that's why he had to pull out of a PRIDE event one time 'cause he shot himself in the leg back in Brazil....
God I thought he was just rehabbing....if he is permamently out, then fuck.
REALLLLY hoping to see him in PRIDE soon...I wish he could've been in the WW grandprix....a match against fellow BJJ ace Paulo Filho would've been entertaining, or any other WW tournament guy for that matter.

I'm guessing it was an accident.
I can't imagine Ryan was sitting at home thinking, "I wonder how painful this really is?"....Blam!......."Shit, I see the point!"

That's why Gracie's choke people out and armbar them.....THEY DON'T FUCK WITH GUNS!!!!!
My favorite Gracie is an obvious Rickson. But I think when his son died, he lost his will to fight. He gave interviews saying that he would fight again, but he's been challenged by the likes of Bas and Wandy, and did nothing.
I guess maybe he likes teaching other guys a little more, or maybe he's just plain afraid to be four-hundred-something and one.
My favorite active Gracie's are Ryan and Rodrigo. Ryan definitely gives some much needed spark to the family name and is a maniacal fighter, but I question his discipline and/or dedication. Before he shot himself, he beat up a couple of cops in Brazil, apparently shattering someone's eyesocket.
He's definitely not an ol' skool straight-edge like the rest of the Gracie's.
And, I just like Rodrigo cuz it sounds cool......Hodrigo, Hodrigo.
