You can definately tell the difference between true mma fans and idiots who only think mma is about quick knock outs or quick subs.

The people calling his fights boring and hating on him are the same people that were pulling for all of his opponents in all of his UFC fights.
Jardine, Imes and Bonnar all of which Rashad landed hard punches and did damage to their faces, all of which were aggressivley taken to the matte and Bonnar was slammed repeatedly.
Here's a shocker, I would even go as far as to say the Rashad haters are big Hughes fans.... What a surprise, sad thing is, these "so called" fans of mma always take the same point of view and opinion towards another fihgter as their hero so if their favorite fighter likes, they like them if they hate them , their fans hate them.
It's MMA, if you like KO's so much, watch K-1 and join the Mauro (PRIDE announcer who does not respect the submission game) bandwaggon.
It's funny how most people that hate wrestlers like Rashad, Coleman, Kerr, Randleman, Barnett, etc all like Hughes and Randy yet their all wrestlers and their games are very similar. I guess you need some hype (not with Hughes, he is deserving of the oxposure but randy 14-8 certainly some hype involded though he was indeed a great fighter) surrounding your name to get love on this website?

Then they take them down again and just lay on top of them. Its not like he is trying t GnP or go for a submission. Have you even watched any of his fights? Or did you just go to sherdog and look up his record and go "oh he finished his first three fights now I can go on a bone headed rant about how good he is and how stupid everyone else is"?
Bottom line Rashad does the same thing every fight I have seen. Take down lay, take down lay, take down lay. If he hit them as hard as you say why doesn't he stand and kick their ass? The difference between rashad and coleman, randleman, hughes, barnett and most other wrestlers is when they take someone down they put a vicious beating on them using their wrestling skill to gain and maintain position. Rashad get in the guard and stays there with his head on the opponents chest until A. they are stood up so he can take them back down. Or B. they escape and he can take them back down. That is all he does for the entire fight and it bores the shit out of every mma fan i have talked to since he came on the scene.
Don't talk to me about understanding the intricacies of mma. I take BJJ&kung foo now. I wrestled in high school for four years and took Isshin-Ryu karate for almost ten years. I think I understand the ground game enough to know when it is basically stalling for a victory and not trying to finish the fight via stoppage. Like everyone else.

As I stated AGAIN, he damaged the face (far more than his face was damaged) of every single opponent he has faced in the octagon and has barely been touched by any of them other than Hoger catching him wiht a solid punch that left a mouse.
Bonnar was owned for 3 rounds, lost the standup and ground game, Carlson Gracie JJ where? Certainly not present in that fight. Quote: |
Originally Posted by Mastiff_owner If he hit them as hard as you say why doesn't he stand and kick their ass? | I never said he crushed them with Igor or Fedor power, I said he has gotten the better of the exchanges in every one of his UFC fights and those were against the likes of some strikers like Jardine and Bonnar and Rashad is a WRESTLER, dominant over his opponents thus far so why would he continue to strike if his game is wrestling? Lots of wrestlers have a decent standup game but when the opportunity for a takedown presents itself, yeah they're going to take the fight to the ground. Quote: |

I'll bet anyone a billion dollars that if Rashaad wins it'll be by decision.

Tito should snatch him up, that would immediately be Tito's ace in that camp and he has some pretty good up and comers.

there was absolutely no stand up in the Bonnar fight...it was LnP just like everyone has been saying. If Bonnar's heart was in the fight, he would have submitted Rashad. try having the man who trained you for years and years pass away, and see what it'd do to someone's heart. Until Rashad learns submissions and knockouts, he still sucks! Who cares if he is undefeated. Someone said he should train with Tito...yeah that'd probably be smart because Tito would teach him how to actually give someone a beating when you have them on the ground. Personally I'd love to see Tito and Rashad fight...Tito by MASSACRE!!!
