At this point it is all pure speculation as to who is at fault if this doesn't happen. Personally I blame all of the people in power in both organizations. I got super hyped for this fight and if it doesn't happen I will be pissed. Don't care whose damn fault it is but I think I will watch a lot more strikeforce, IFL, KOTC get everyone I know that watches to do the same thing. There should be a law against this type of shit. If you announce a fight especially one of this magnitude you damn well better make it happen - barring injury.

MMAPimp is the queen of the trolls so I'm staying well away from this, I will just state my belief that we shouldn't really listen to any one person on this one and paste my speculation I posted in an earlier thread:

Here's the way I see it:

Pride have everything to gain and very little to lose from Wand vs Chuck.

UFC have very little to gain and everything to lose. (I hope I don't need to elaborate there - it seems quite obvious)

Logically it follows that Pride will be doing everything in their power to make the fight happen, whereas UFC would be looking to avoid the fight if possible (preferably after fucking over Pride's plans to conquor the US market).

I know that isn't saying much, but hey, it does seem to eliminate Pride breaking the deal so we are left with UFC, Wand, or Chuck. I know who my money is on.

If UFC doesn't want the fight to happen.....why did Dana White announce it?

It's obvious Pride is more to blame then UFC. Dana sent Liddell over to fight in the GP....why shouldn't Pride return the favor even if Wand gets paid a little less? Wouldn't it be worth it if he beat Chuck and won the title?

only time will tell who is truly to blame. But i just cant see Dana doing that at UFC 61 and then being responsible for the fight not happening, It would just make him look so fucking stupid. Not to mention the fact it would really help Pride coming to USA if something discredited and made UFC fans angry with the UFC. Only a thought but it does seem possible that Pride sent Wandy over and to make the announcement in the UFC on one of Their PPVs, with the pure intention of pulling him out and making UFC look like idiots for promoting Pride on their PPV.

I had a feeling it was too good to be true when it was announced...bu I thought it wouldn't happen because of injuries.

Only time will tell if it does eventually happen, but I doubt it happens in Nov. like it was planned.

i don't think it has much to do with pride, but more to do with silva and the ?UFC. all pride did was allow silva to go outside of his contract and fight in the UFC, any monetary negotiations are between silva's people and the UFC. i have a feeling this fight will happen though, a lot like the crocop scare was sorted out in a couple days with pride. i think if the MMA fans boo loud enough, it'll get sorted out.
