|  Who is the most underrated fighter?
I have seen some topics on here about over rated fighters, just thought i would do the flip side of that. One for me would be Tim Sylvia, cant think of any other HW Champ in UFC history that has been so disrespected. Also i think Denis Kang doesnt get much love up here and I think he could be great. Also Sobral by some people, dunno if they are just the Chuck lovers or what, seems even UFC seems to underrate him.. ala announcing their "Super fight" before Chuck even fights him.

i don't like sylvia very much, but he's champ for a reason, so i'd have to agree. another would be evan tanner. i know he lost a couple big ones in a row, but he's still a pretty damned good fighter.

Jeff Monson, not because people disrespect him all the time, but because no one really talks about him at all and he is a legit title contender. Plus the fact that he was out of the UFC for a while even though he was beating guys who got UFC fights at smaller shows

IMO he would be more overrated as he has not faced any top ranked competition (and Lytoto dissmantled him rather easily and was on pace to be top ranked). Which would of courser prove your statement of him being underrated but I still think he is overrated, he certainly can mount some offense but he is not very good at taking punishment which scares me when he has to fight Anderson Silva as he is going to eat some kicks and punshes.
Would not surprise me to see Franklin take the fight to the ground.

Tank Abbott.Everyone is quick to point out his many losses and poor conditioning ,but not quick to point out the fact that'd he take fights on like 2 days notice and would fight more than once a night.When he was in shape(only in a few fights) he was a monster.He had tremendous strength.At one time he could bench press 600 pounds and had great KO power(the only guy to ever really KO iron jawed Cabbage) and he also had decent wrestling.Way under rated.He was winning a lot of the fights he lost untill he gassed.He took a fight against than UFC HW champ Muarice Smith on 4 days notice and absolutely dominated Smith untill he gassed.
I agree with Tanner and Sylvia too.
